Department Overview:
Nomura's Finance department oversees the company's financial operations and provides strategic guidance for business decision-making. Collaborating with senior leadership, business units, and stakeholders, the team develops effective financial strategies, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, to align financial operations with business objectives. Specializing in financial reporting, accounting, tax, treasury, and capital management, Nomura's Finance team is known for delivering exceptional service. With a proven track record, commitment to innovation, and global reach, the department is poised to drive growth and success in the financial industry.
Responsibilities:
Leading the Singapore country monthly, quarterly and annual reporting close, both Local (IFRS) and Group (USGAAP). Expert knowledge in Nomura’s DIVA reporting system highly valued.
Managing the outsourcing engagement with inhouse service provider in India.
Technical interpretation, advisory and implementation of Accounting Standards.
Leading key ledger implementation projects including the inhouse Dodge system.
Managing the monthly and quarterly taxation reporting and completion of the annual tax returns (ECI and Final tax return).
Expert knowledge in Nomura International Funding and related issuance products.
Managing the ongoing and annual audit process for Singapore entities.
Leading the implementation of process and control efficiencies.
Managing monthly and quarterly MAS statistical reporting e.g. MAS 1003, Income & Expenditure etc.
Maintaining and enhancing the overall control and governance framework.
Representing Finance Control in local and regional strategic project initiatives.
Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge Required:
Minimum 12 years of experience within Financial Institutions, or Big Four Audit Firms.
Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA or equivalent qualifications).
Experience managing offshore service centers around process control and outsourcing governance.
Experience in both US GAAP and IFRS reporting.
Experience of Dodge and DIVA reporting systems for Nomura.
Demonstrated expertise in data management (e.g. Alteryx, BI Tools etc.).
Must be able to work well under tight deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities.
Expertise in Issuance Vehicles.
