JOB TITLE: Research Lead, Data & Insights REPORTS TO: Head of Sales, Data & Insights, Asia ABOUT THIS ROLE: The Research Lead is Maternity Cover role for Pureprofile. You will manage designing, scoping and analysis of primary research projects across both Quantitative and Qualitative methodologies (with a heavy emphasis towards Quantitative work). You will be a Subject Matter Expert, collaborating closely with the Client Solutions team in championing diverse types of studies across Asia (PR, advertising, new product development, brand health, advertising testing, and so on). You will also be directly managing and guiding 1 direct report (Senior Researcher). RESPONSIBILITIES: (INSIGHTS DELIVERY): ● Management of all research related tasks from end to end – objectives and research needs exploration, questionnaire design, survey testing, fieldwork coordination, data processing guidance, analysis plan, interpretation of data, and presentation to clients ● Assist Client Solutions team in research design and proposal process ● Educate global teams in terms of best practices about research methodologies, questionnaire design, survey design, and analysis ● Drive high impact business decisions through insightful and actionable recommendations ● Run mini polls where needed to substantiate proposals, or for content creation ● Secondary data research where applicable ● Brainstorming of ideas to improve insights delivery to clients ● Creation of case studies, by combining learnings and best practices from completed studies ● Proactively pitch new research ideas/formats and stay up to date with new vendors and trends ● Coordinate with our Media arm (Pure. Amplify) for media activation studies (CLIENT MANAGEMENT): ● Drive actionable results and insights from data collected and consult clients on key takeaways to address their business needs and wants ● Foster strategic client relationship by executing external workshops with clients for topics such as “How to do Pricing Research” ● Advise clients on types of research/methodologies to consider SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: ● Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Social Sciences, or related fields ● 4-5 years of market experience in an agency setting (in particular, customized research) ● Strong understanding of research design, research methodologies, sampling, questionnaire design, quota setting, data weighing and significance testing ● Excellent client management and project management skills and advanced analytical and numerical skills, with a keen eye for creating compelling stories and synthesizing findings instead of “regurgitating data” ● Experience in managing high volume of complex Quantitative research studies under tight budgets and schedules ● Experience with managing online and offline research is highly preferred ● Experience with mixed research methodologies (Quantitative and Qualitative) is highly preferred YOU’LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU ARE... ● You are a research savvy individual - you are ready to get your hands dirty when required, looking into raw survey data/data tables, developing insights through a story, and you possess the ability to tell clients why one concept is the winning concept or even why their competitor customers are not buying their brand. ● You are a problem solver - you never say “no” without thinking of an alternative solution for the benefit of your clients, you deep dive into problems yourself and is resourceful enough to search for answers independently; whether it is working with a 3rd party vendor that you’ve never worked with before, or working with the Delivery team to understand why a project is not moving, ● You are a challenger - you have a different view of the world, you understand your client’s business and how data can impact their various functions, you love a good debate in terms of what research methodologies to employ, and you push clients to get out of their comfort zone. ● You are a self-starter - you have no problem working alone in your market, you take initiative to get your job done without supervision, you embrace uncertainty, and you excel in an environment which empowers you to do your best for the organization.
