We are seeking an experienced Commis Chef to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. The ideal candidate will have a passion for modern Australian barbecue cuisine and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Job Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Section Chef and other senior positions.
- Ensure all tasks assigned are executed to a high standard.
- Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas.
- Prepare ingredients for senior chefs and ensure they meet the required standards.
- Verify product consistency against specifications provided by senior staff.
- Measure dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately.
- Manage ordering and stock rotation.
- Prepare mise en place sheets for briefing as instructed by senior chefs.
- Minimize food wastage.
- Engage in continuous culinary skill development through training or self-study.
- Perform ad hoc duties assigned by superiors.
- Adhere to the Staff Code of Conduct at all times.
- Seek to provide the best possible experience for visitors and guests on our sites.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- No minimum certification required.
- Experience with kitchen equipment.
- Understanding of basic food hygiene practices and health and safety protocols.
- Able to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Highly disciplined and punctual.
- Willingsness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Standard working hours: 5 days per week (44 hours).
