Responsibilities:
Manage the full spectrum of the tax operations of the Group and provide detailed advice to Senior Group Management on all relevant material tax matters.
Ensure the group of SJ companies and branches comply with all applicable tax legislation through active monitoring of the tax compliance obligations to mitigate the risk of late lodgement and managing tax disputes.
Provide guidance and support to the Finance team on all tax-related matters as required including support on corporate tax and deferred tax provisions.
Develop, implement, and maintain tax policies and procedures including the Group Tax Risk Management and Transfer Pricing policies.
Provide support for M&A and divestments in the Group, including performing or reviewing Due Diligence.
Assist in worldwide tax planning and compliance.
Manage a regional team of in-house tax professionals.
Manage the implementation of BEPS Pillar Two and the impact on Group tax position.
Actively identify opportunities and implement the Group's tax strategy that optimizes the Group's effective tax rate.
Actively support business projects with a view to improve tax efficiency.
Requirements:
Preferably CA/CPA with at least 15 years of tax experience, gained in a corporate or International Accounting firm, in a corporate tax specific function.
Very strong tax analysis skills.
Strong tax effect accounting skills.
Experience working with complex corporate/international tax issues including interpretation of tax treaties.
A 'hands-on' individual with a high level of initiative and professionalism.
A proven ability to meet deadlines.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with management and colleagues.
Experience working in a large local corporate environment.
