Overview The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing project plans, schedules, and where involved in projects, coordinating activities to ensure the timely and efficient completion of civil construction projects. Responsibilities Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including work breakdown structures (WBS), timelines, and milestones, considering project scope, objectives, and client requirements. Scheduling and Coordination: Create and maintain project schedules using scheduling software (Primavera P6), allocate resources, and coordinate activities to ensure adherence to timelines and deadlines. Resource Allocation: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to allocate resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment. Progress Monitoring: Monitor project progress against planned schedules, identify deviations or delays, and analyze critical paths to implement corrective actions and mitigate risks. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments, identify potential risks or obstacles that may affect project timelines, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and maintain project schedules. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular progress reports, including project status updates, variance analysis, and forecasts, for internal stakeholders and clients. Change Management: Manage changes to project scope, schedules, or resources by assessing their impact, updating plans, and communicating changes effectively to relevant stakeholders. Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration among project teams, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Minimum 3 years in planning and scheduling for civil construction projects.
