Job Title: Fitness Department Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fitness Department Director to lead our fitness team and oversee the overall success of our fitness department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective fitness programs, managing and supervising fitness staff, conducting fitness assessments, and ensuring that fitness equipment is well-maintained.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement fitness programs and services that meet the needs of our members.
  • Manage and supervise fitness staff, including personal trainers, group fitness instructors, and fitness assistants.
  • Conduct fitness assessments and create personalized workout plans for members.
  • Ensure that fitness equipment is well-maintained and in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote fitness programs and services.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in fitness and wellness.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to fitness department activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field.
  • Certification from a nationally recognized fitness organization (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM).
  • Previous experience in a fitness management role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with members and staff.
  • Knowledge of fitness equipment, exercise techniques, and program design.
  • Proficiency in fitness assessment tools and software.
  • CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate exercise techniques and movements.
  • Ability to lift and move fitness equipment as needed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
