About the Role Our Economic and Financial Consulting team helps our clients navigate legal, regulatory and international arbitration proceedings while supporting strategic decision making and public policy debates around the world. Delivering incisive interpretation of complex economic issues has made us a global leader in this field. Our team includes economists, accountants, valuation professionals, MBAs and econometricians. We work on varied and challenging assignments across a wide spectrum of industries. We work with international law firms, global conglomerates and FTSE 100 companies, governments and regulators. We have significant expertise in the valuation of businesses, intellectual property, financial products, and other assets. We are the leading firm in the provision of expert evidence on valuation issues and the quantification of economic losses before courts and tribunals all around the world. We also provide valuation services for commercial, reporting, and regulatory purposes, for example, in the context of licensing, investment appraisal, fiscal valuation, and transfer pricing. Examples of some of our recent projects include: Valuation of a company in the retail sector:We valued minority interests in a company owning and operating a landmark shopping mall, pursuant to the court finding that the company’s minority shareholders were unfairly prejudiced by its largest shareholder. Quantifying losses arising from mismanagement of funds:We were engaged to assess the economic loss suffered by plaintiffs who alleged that their funds and investments were fraudulently mismanaged by a fund manager over several years. Japan – Republic of Korea interconnector:We were engaged by a developer of a high voltage, direct current transmission cable (or ‘interconnector’) used to facilitate the trade of electricity between Japan and the Republic of Korea. We modelled the interconnector’s: (i) likely revenues; (ii) impact on socio-economic welfare; and (iii) effect on the curtailment of renewable generation. What You’ll Do As a Consultant/Senior Consultant you will have the opportunity to apply your intellect and skills to a diverse range of economic, valuation and business issues. You will play a key role in our projects, working in small teams to carry out industry, market, and quantitative analysis, and to report our findings in a clear, concise, and structured way. More specifically, the role will involve: Identifying relevant project material and deliver key supporting research Analysing large volumes of data and perform statistical analysis Designing complex models with limited guidance Preparing reports, written analyses, presentations, quantitative exhibits, and other client deliverables Designing and build valuation models and perform financial analysis Investigating and critique assertions, analyses, and work product of other experts Assisting in business development activities in Asia-Pacific How You’ll Grow Our practice is growing quickly, and it is an exciting time to join us. What You Will Need to Succeed Have strong analytical skills and relish problem-solving Are passionate about professional development and the development of those around them Can communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Are collaborative and have good project and people management skills Are able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Are able to conduct research in an effective way, both independently and as part of a team Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in any discipline 3-6 years of post-graduation work experience in a relevant/related field ACA, CFA, or other relevant qualification in finance or economics is a plus but not required Excellent modelling financial skills and experience in designing, coding, and implementing pricing/valuation frameworks Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Excel/VBA, Word and Power Point) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to travel when requested Apart from the well-structured career path and collaborative team environment, our employees enjoy a variety of perks and benefits.
