Job description Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi‐disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade‐offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering‐specific programs and teams. Job responsibilities Review electrical and mechanical designs of colocation data centers and overall technical relationships with colocation data center providers globally. Ensure space and power inventory are globally available for forecasted network demands. Evaluate and improve global design and build standards of colocation data center spaces. Participate in global team resource planning and allocations. Minimum qualifications Bachelor's degreein Science, Engineering, or Math, or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in data center colocation infrastructure program management/planning. 5 years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports. Experience in electrical or mechanical engineering in a data center environment. Experience in rack, space, and power capacity management and reporting. Preferred qualifications 15 years of experience indata center electrical and capacity management. 10 years ofexperience in data center facility management, design, or operations. Experience working on gathering customer or product requirements for data center builds. Experience with global team management. Excellent written and verbal communication and financialskills, with the ability to solve complex problems.
