Lead Technical Safety Engineer

Overview NES Fircroft is recruiting a Lead Technical Safety Engineer to support offshore projects from pre-FEED through FEED and execution. Responsibilities Design of fire and safety systems for the offshore oil and gas modules and platforms. Carry out design safety philosophy, HSE plan, and specifications for fire protection systems (active and passive), HFE, etc. Prepares and review engineering design documents, reports and specification for the fire and safety systems namely design philosophies, equipment specifications and data sheets, safety equipment list, material requisitions, equipment technical bid evaluations, firewater hydraulic and safety related calculations. Participate in process hazard reviews and analysis, including HAZOP/HAZID/SIL/FMEA studies, and be responsible for actions close-out. Responsible for reviewing third party safety studies, including FERA, dispersion analysis, EERA, ESSA, dropped objects study, QRA studies, etc. (not limited to). Design of active and passive fire protection systems and prepare Hazardous/H2S Area Classification documentation, safety and firefighting layouts, escape route and life-saving equipment layouts, and other safety drawings. Evaluate and review safety critical elements performance standards, RAM, fire and gas detection mapping, etc., based on project requirements. Support procurement and as needed, work as package engineer for safety and firefighting, life-saving equipment. Provide health and environmental inputs (including health risk assessments such as chemical exposure, noise and lighting, ergonomics/Human Factors Engineering, environmental impact assessments, etc.) to projects. Deliver project safety deliverables as per project schedule. Provide inputs and support to projects in all safety aspects, including progress reports. Participate in 3D model reviews for inter-discipline clash checking, technical safety and working environment compliances including accessibility to equipment for maintenance Reviews inter-discipline design documents, design drawings and vendor data Coordinates and participate in risk analysis, safety specialist studies, workshops and reporting. Interface/coordinate with other Engineering disciplines and clients and take the lead in resolving technical matters related to safety aspects. Assists construction to startup pre-commissioning fire and safety systems Assists proposal in project tendering with respect to the fire and safety systems Assists construction in attending site installation and pre-commissioning of fire and safety equipment and systems Conducts site verification where requires for technical safety and working environment compliances Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university. Minimum of 10 years of HSE engineering experience in the Oil and Gas industry, in process safety/technical safety, and Preferably worked 1-3 years in a Lead position on similar projects. Involved in design projects for offshore (FPSO/Platforms) and onshore (Refineries, LNG facilities, Storage terminals, etc.). Expereienced offshore projects (FPSO/Platforms). Possess good knowledge of Oil and Gas process facilities, local and international process safety codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, EI15, etc.) and regulatory/marine codes and standards (MODU, SOLAS, DNV/ABS/Lloyds Register). Hands-on experience in plot plan review, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL classification/verification, and other safety reviews (e.g., SIMOPS, ALARP). Good working knowledge of PIPENET Vision, Flaresim, and other consequence modelling software such as DNV PHAST, etc., is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
