BTI executive search is representing our Private Banking client expanding in APAC for a Risk Manager for their Singapore and Hong Kong offices.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the business complies with regulatory requirements, internal policies and industry standards. You will regularly review, update and maintain internal policies, procedures and contracts to ensure they remain aligned with evolving regulations and best practices.
You will play a key role in developing and maintaining a comprehensive risk management framework. This includes identifying, assessing and mitigating risks across the business through activities such as sample testing, internal reviews, training sessions, and regular monitoring. As part of this process, you will evaluate exceptions to standard operations to ensure they align with internal risk guidelines.
The role involves working closely with both internal and external auditors, as well as staying engaged with regulatory bodies on issues that impact the business. You'll be expected to escalate any potential risks or concerns promptly to management. Additionally, you will support various remediation efforts by interpreting and applying internal policies and external regulations effectively.
You will also help prepare materials for governance meetings and contribute to discussions. Beyond your core responsibilities, you will participate in process improvement initiatives and offer administrative and operational support to the Chief Operating Officer in the region.
To succeed in this role, you should have at least five years of experience in Wealth Management or Private Banking, along with a solid understanding of the related products, services, and regulatory environment. A degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is required. You should be highly organized, capable of managing multiple tasks under pressure, and comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
Strong communication skills are essential—both written and verbal—with fluency in
Mandarin
being a key requirement. You'll need sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities, close attention to detail, and a strategic mindset. We're looking for a team player with a proactive, can-do attitude, and a high level of ownership and accountability. Experience with Avaloq and certifications in risk management will be considered advantages. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is also expected.
