Join to apply for the Diamond Turning Technician role at Coherent Corp. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Control and verify thickness, prepare and set up diamond‐turning machines, ensuring proper tool alignment, machine calibration, and configuration. Ensure finish quality and optical figure of all machined parts. Adjust diamond‐cutting tools based on material and desired specifications. Perform precision machining of components such as mirrors or lenses, controlling the diamond‐cutting tool. Inspect parts during and after machining to ensure they meet required specifications, using tools like interferometers and other measuring instruments to verify optical quality and finish. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent, with competency in math and algebra skills. Precision machining, Mechatronics or CNC programming. 1–2 years of experience in precision machining or CNC operations. Machine shop experience, particularly in precision machining, is a plus. Familiarity with optical metrology and inspection tools. Skills Good manual dexterity. Knowledge of selecting and adjusting diamond‐cutting tools for specific tasks and materials. Understanding of safety protocols when working with machinery, tools, and materials to maintain a safe work environment. Working Conditions This role is 100% onsite. Rotating 12‐hour shift.
