Network Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Network Operations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in monitoring and maintaining the operational integrity of submarine cable networks and cable landing stations.

About the Role:

The Network Operations Specialist will be responsible for monitoring the submarine cable network and systems 24/7, detecting and responding to anomalies, outages, and performance issues. This includes analyzing alarms, implementing preventative measures, and collaborating with teams to document incident details.

In addition, the successful candidate will analyze performance data, recommend improvements, and implement strategies to enhance network capacity and reliability. They will also provide technical support to customers, manage co-location services, and troubleshoot connections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Monitoring: Monitor the submarine cable network and systems 24/7, detecting and responding to anomalies, outages, and performance issues.
  • Incident Management: Identify and assess network and landing station incidents, troubleshoot and resolve or escalate issues, and collaborate with teams to document incident details.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze performance data, recommend improvements, and implement strategies to enhance network capacity and reliability.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to customers, manage co-location services, and troubleshoot connections.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of events, incidents, and actions, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Proactive Monitoring: Implement measures to prevent potential issues, conduct routine checks, and system updates.
  • Equipment Management: Understand network infrastructure and coordinate maintenance.
  • Compliance: Adhere to industry regulations and security protocols.
  • Security and Access Control: Enforce security protocols and manage access to equipment.
  • Project Support: Participate in new cable installation projects.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with equipment vendors.
