Element is seeking a skilled Chemistry Laboratory Technician to join their team at Sungei Kadut Loop, Singapore.

Job Description:

The role involves assisting the Chemist in laboratory testing and on-site sampling (if required) while performing various tasks related to sample preparation and analysis. You will analyze cement, soil, aggregates, concrete, and polymer samples according to standard methods. Additionally, you will operate analytical instruments such as UV-visible spectrophotometers, FTIR, and auto titrator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze cement, soil, aggregates, concrete, and polymer samples according to standard methods.
  • Operate analytical instruments such as UV-visible spectrophotometers, FTIR, and auto titrator.
  • Prepare reagents, standard solutions, and ensure the standardization of laboratory solutions.
  • Handle and store chemicals as per the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
  • Issue reports and receive samples from respective entities.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Perform additional activities as requested by the department manager to support the organization's annual targets and goals.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Chemistry with at least 1 year experience in materials testing.
  • Ability to work in teams under pressure and flexibility to work different working hours if required.
  • Good English communication skills: reading, writing, speaking, and interacting with all levels of staff.
  • Team player with initiative, good communication skills, and dedication to responsibilities.
  • Knowledge and experience in safe operation of testing equipment are advantageous.
