Research Scientist Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our team within the Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) research programme.

The Signature Research Programme in EID aims to pioneer the development and discovery of new methods for the treatment, prevention and control of emerging pathogens.

As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for planning, conducting and analysing experiments independently or in collaboration with colleagues.

You will process, document and manage clinical samples, maintain accurate inventory and traceability, and record, monitor and report research findings with scientific rigor.

In addition to your research contributions, you will oversee day-to-day operations of the laboratory to ensure efficiency, organization and productivity.

You will develop, implement and update lab policies, SOPs and workflows to support best practices, conduct and maintain risk assessments, MSDS files and compliance documentation.

A strong understanding of safety regulations, risk assessment and compliance frameworks is essential for this role.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Life Sciences, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering or other related fields.

Experience in laboratory techniques, such as cell culture, molecular biology and biochemistry, is also required.

If you have experience working in a BSL-3 lab, this would be an advantage.
