In this role, you will play a central role in enabling the firm’s expansion, ensuring that the company’s products, transactions, and operations meet the highest regulatory and governance standards across Singapore and relevant markets. As the primary legal advisor, you will work closely with senior leadership, product, investment, and operations teams to anticipate risks, steer regulatory strategy, and guide complex transactions from start to finish. Founder @ Cultivate | Outsourced HR, and PeopleOps for Start‑Ups & SMEs Key Responsibilities Owning the full legal and regulatory agenda for the firm, ensuring the business operates in accordance with relevant frameworks across multiple jurisdictions. Overseeing transactional work, including investment documentation, product structuring, and deal execution, engaging external counsel when appropriate. Supporting the creation and management of regulated products and vehicles, such as multi‑asset structures, special purpose vehicles, and credit or investment instruments. Strengthening internal governance, managing corporate matters, employment‑related issues, and commercial agreements such as NDAs, vendor contracts, SaaS agreements, and service provider agreements. Driving licensing and reporting obligations under MAS and ASIC, serving as the main point of contact for regulatory engagements. Managing the firm’s compliance programme, including maintaining registers, policies and procedures, AML/KYC onboarding protocols, ongoing reporting (FATCA/CRS, MAS notices, ESVCLP where relevant), and monitoring obligations. Partnering with Investor Relations and Finance to ensure smooth investor onboarding, with a focus on AML/KYC efficiency and regulatory accuracy. Key Skills & Experience A recognised legal qualification (LLB/LLM/JD) and eligibility to practise in Singapore or another leading common law jurisdiction such as Australia. At least 7 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate, funds, banking, or financial services regulatory work. Strong exposure to investment management, fintech, private credit, venture, or M&A transactions. Deep understanding of compliance frameworks applicable to licensed or regulated financial institutions. Commercial judgement, the ability to make pragmatic decisions, and confidence in advising on risk‑reward trade‑offs. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and influence at all levels. Strong organisational and project management capabilities, with experience running multiple work‑streams concurrently.
