Overview
RINA is recruiting for a
Marine Surveyor (Singapore)
to join its office in Singapore within the South Asia Pacific Marine Division.
Mission
The Marine Surveyor serves as an experienced professional applying expertise in maritime Rules, Regulations, and industry principles to ensure the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.
Key Accountabilities
Professional Specialist: Acts as a professional specialist, applying in-depth knowledge of Rules, Regulations, and industry concepts; keeps abreast of new developments and recommends changes to surveying processes and safety programs.
Inspection and Reporting: Conducts routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements; prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys.
Leadership and Coordination: Plans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of surveying work; monitors the quality of service, providing guidance to less experienced surveyors.
Client Interaction: Engages with clients to solve problems within the area of expertise and ensures client satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues.
Training and Development: Provides guidance and training to less experienced surveyors; contributes to the development and improvement of the surveying team\'s skills and knowledge.
Quality Assurance: Ensures maintenance of quality, content, consistency, and continuity of work performed.
Ethical Conduct: Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity, transparency, and fairness in survey processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Marine Engineering or relevant field or CoC class 1 or 2 (Marine Engineer Officer).
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Surveyor or minimum 6 years’ experience in engineering or inspection/survey fields with an IACS member Classification Society.
Understanding of RINA strategic technical positioning in the marine sector.
Proficiency in English commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services.
Ability to develop working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy.
Ability to understand engineering plans and shipbuilding practices.
Ability to perform either new building surveys or ship in service surveys, including associated inspections, tests, trials, and certification issuance, and to follow up repairs and condition assessments as required; attendance at major conversion works as needed.
Knowledge of ship engineering systems and machinery; knowledge of computer programs or software related to job responsibilities.
Knowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work.
