Cloud Architect Role Overview

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to design, build and maintain scalable cloud-based systems. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of cloud computing technologies and be able to provide strategic guidance on cloud architecture.

The Cloud Architect will lead the development and implementation of cloud-based solutions, ensuring they meet the needs of our business and customers. This includes evaluating and selecting cloud providers, designing cloud architectures, and implementing security measures to protect our infrastructure.

A key aspect of this role is collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure that cloud solutions align with overall business objectives. The Cloud Architect will also be responsible for staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing and providing recommendations for future developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud architectures that meet business requirements
  • Evaluate and select cloud providers based on technical and commercial factors
  • Develop and maintain cloud-based solutions using industry-leading tools and technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cloud solutions align with business objectives
  • Provide strategic guidance on cloud architecture and make recommendations for future developments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
  • Strong background in Operating System administration for Linux/Unix and/or Microsoft Windows Server
  • Proficient in networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls)
  • Knowledge of industry-standard security compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2)
  • Hands-on experience in managing public cloud, developing, and deploying large-scale production applications
  • Working knowledge of DevOps software development tools and methodologies
