To provide Public Health engineering management on the HS2 Old Oak Common project through design to completion. This will involve all stages from design, installation, testing and commissioning. Support to Public Health construction teams to ensure successful delivery from a HSE, programme, quality and compliance perspectives. Responsibilities Lead a small Engineering team to deliver the design, installation and commissioning of the Public Health scope of works at HS2 Old Oak Common Station. This incorporates parts of the station which work to HS2, Network Rail (NR), or both technical standards. Undertake Public Health design review in line with current project applicable HS2, NR, BS, EN and ISO standards and ensure buildability and constructability. Identify any weaknesses or errors in the design that could jeopardise functionality. Ensure HSE best practices are always followed. Manage a 3rd party design consultant in delivering the design deliverables required for the project. Liaise with the main Contractor and Designers to review comments and agree an efficient way forward with resolving design comments. Ensure design risk assessment is compliant with installation parameters. Participate in, and where required chair, Haz ID, Haz OP and Haz CON’s as required by the client. Provide engineered solutions to key project problems to satisfy client expectations, project restrictions and budget considerations. Manage all associated design registers, meeting minutes, drawing registers etc. as appropriate inline VVB/Anthro and project requirements. Ensure all formal communication is undertaken and managed (RFI, TQ, EWN, MAR, TD etc). Direct liaison with CAD/BIM team to ensure correct drawing modelling to BIM or other standards. Review drawings for clash detection and associated interface problems. Attend, and participate as the discipline lead, interdisciplinary design reviews and checks (IDR/IDC). Develop scope documents for tenders and procurement processes. Liaise with manufacturers to determine product suitability, in partnership with procurement. Attend FAT and SAT (and any other required stage) to ensure compliance with requirements. Support, and where required, carry out the commissioning of Mechanical Systems. Carry out site surveys/visits for project purposes. Direct liaison with installation teams to ensure design suitability, works methodology and solve key installation issues/constructability. Work with the commercial department to track technical or design changes and variances. Manage subcontractor works as appropriate including assisting the commercial department in valuation and contract support. Ensure design and works comply with Anthro and client quality management systems. Keep up to date with all Public Health Engineering, construction and relevant legislation, law, standards and best practices. Generate Quality Assurance documentation inline with Anthro and client project procedures (ITP, QAD’s etc). Generate SHE documentation inline with Anthro and client procedures (WPP, TBS, RAMS etc). Review and manage the team’s time and allocation. Profile Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering. Engineering Council Registration as Incorporated Engineer. Registered member of IMech E, IET, CIBSE or other recognised Engineering Council Institutions. SMSTS, SSSTS or IOSH Managing Safety. CSCS Card – AQP or PQP min. Full UK drivers license. Experience: Seven years’ experience within a similar Public Health Engineering position. Previously worked within the infrastructure/construction environment. Public Health Design. Previous experience as a Network Rail or HS2 Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE). Experience with offsite construction, modularisation, pre-fabrication and Df MA. Previous experience within an M&E Contractor.
