Senior Laboratory Operations Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate laboratory space suitability by assessing layout and infrastructure.
- Optimise space usage through enhanced layout and equipment arrangement.
- Collaborate with colleagues on space allocation recommendations.
- Support review of space-related change requests.
- Assist in setting up and configuring equipment for project investigators.
- Maintain accurate records of space assignments and utilization.
- Coordinate with Estates to grant lab users access to laboratories.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation.
- Assist lab users in maintaining and executing proper maintenance protocols.
- Oversee daily operations and upkeep of the laboratory.
- Ensure lab users adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
- Implement the requirements of the Lab Safety Management system.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
- At least 8 years of work experience in Engineering or Infocomm Technology related labs.
- Experience in managing safety and inventories.
- Experience with procurement and document management.
- Familiarity with engineering and materials processes.
- Practical knowledge of safety and license requirements.
- Experience in managing engineering/ infocomm technology research laboratory an advantage.
- Experience with creating Risk assessments and Standard operating procedures.
