Backend Software Expert

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our software development unit, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing business-critical software solutions for our internal broking division and external customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior architects to build cutting-edge software solutions that align with our IT strategy.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices in software development.
  • Work closely with QA counterparts to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
  • Develop and maintain unit tests, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of quality within the team.
  • Experiment with emerging technologies and methodologies to drive innovation and excellence in software development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience, preferably in software engineering or related fields.
  • Expert knowledge of Java (version 8 through to the latest release), Spring Boot, and Hibernate framework.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., MSSQL Server, MySQL) and schema design principles.
  • Demonstrable experience in message and event-based asynchronous messaging systems.
  • Ability to design and develop distributed real-time systems.
  • Familiarity with AWS (or similar cloud platforms) and deployment management.
  • Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking systems.
  • Adept at Agile working practices and collaboration with local and remote teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • Background in financial/trading platforms and knowledge of financial markets.
  • In-depth knowledge of FIX protocol and ability to handle FIX interactions.
