Tech Product Owner role is responsible for overseeing technology solution design, delivery of tech products to enable the realization of business outcomes, as well as the smooth transition into BAU and Technology Run & Maintain teams. In the medium term, the role will also lead the Technology solution architecture design of the FFP Data & MI Workstream. The individual will collaborate with the FFP business owners and delivery leads as their key Technology partners on the day-to-day execution of the FFP plan. This role will require a strong understanding of both technology (i.e., Data architecture & engineering, data governance security, business intelligence analytics, and emerging technologies) and business domains (i.e., Data strategy modelling, MIS solutioning and operations optimization). Responsibilities Be accountable for solution design recommendations, ensure alignment to global tech standards and roadmap, justification for recommendation in terms of business benefits and alignment to technology roadmap outcomes Execute and develop product roadmap in collaboration with teams across the FFP programme to ensure alignment with business objectives Manage product backlog including features and user stories to prioritize delivery by the development team Create and drive the team’s resourcing strategy and operating model to ensure the team has the right skills and size to deliver capabilities and use cases Oversee delivery against delivery plan by the data tech team to ensure business goals are hit in line with the product roadmap Provide timely and concise updates to Finance GTP Head and GTPC / SRC governance committees Lead and motivate diverse teams of technical specialists Understand and analyze business requirements and translate into tech solution design ideas Oversee Finance Data Architecture and Design (Application, integration, infrastructure) design of all Data tech products Facilitate collaboration between business (Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Procurement) and technology stakeholders effectively in the co-creation of tech solution design ideas Coordinate effectively with tech delivery leads in the planning, execution of tech product delivery and transition to Run team post go-live Effective management of diverse teams, comprising internal and external resources Drive innovation across the data space leveraging the latest technologies and apply to data in the finance space Work with the Data and AI CoE to ensure adherence to standards and leverage the work back into Finance Build out the delivery model to leverage the best from third party vendors coupled with strong internal capability; balance the team across high-cost and low-cost locations Build and mentor internal permanent staff to ensure career growth and continuous improvement Provide full transparency and updates to all levels of the organization ensuring stakeholder engagement Develop and implement standardized delivery and support processes that work seamlessly in the wider organization Actively contribute to the wider build-out of the Finance Technology domain supporting the function across all the LBUs Qualifications Experience Level: Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience and proven track record within Finance/ Insurance sectors Education Level: Bachelor’s degree (2:1 honor or higher) or equivalent level Certifications: Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Personal Attributes: Strong analytical skills, leadership, communication, and problem-solving ability Mandatory Skills Data architecture, data engineering and delivery background in Finance/ Insurance sectors Cloud architecture design Familiarity with data privacy regulations Technology delivery project management experience Team leadership and management qualities Effective communication skills – written, verbal and presentation to senior stakeholders and large audiences Awareness of Actuarial modelling and results production processes Prudential is an equal opportunity employer.
