What the role is: Energy security is an existential issue for Singapore. With the growing climate imperative, a global energy transition shifting to low-carbon fuels is underway. At the same time, geopolitical pressures are causing significant stresses in energy markets, leading to risks of supply disruptions and significant price volatility. One of Singapore’s biggest challenges over the next few decades is to secure a low-carbon energy supply that is reliable and cost-competitive.
