Responsibilities ByteDance will prioritize applicants who have a current right to work in Singapore and do not require ByteDance sponsorship of a visa. General litigation support with a primary focus on the AMA (Asia ex China, Middle East, Africa region). Handle general litigation, pre‑litigation claims, and all related matters. Manage all aspects of litigation including pre‑action correspondence, e‑discovery, fact‑finding and analysis, witness preparation, drafting, case‑management conferences, interim applications, and ADR or trial preparation and presentation. Supervise and partner with outside counsel to ensure that all aspects of the company's legal representation are of the highest quality, including the day‑to‑day running of matters, overall strategy, written work, and oral advocacy. Regularly lead and deliver legal work product with little supervision, including advice to clients on complex matters, contracts and investigation/litigation responses. Work and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders. Support the company's strategy for litigation and, where applicable, regulatory matters. Possess a deep understanding of the substance and nuances of laws in the subject matter area, skillfully interpreting and applying legal concepts to effectively handle various legal matters. Independently identify and evaluate legal risk in business contexts, consult outside counsel and relevant stakeholders where appropriate, and make well‑informed recommendations to clients, including in ambiguous situations. Takes on a leadership role in addressing complex legal matters, where warranted, exhibiting a high level of autonomy and responsibility. Consider both business and legal implications of advice with a well‑attuned understanding of risk. Keep the wider regional team appraised of regional developments. About the Team Our Global Litigation Team provides key support for ByteDance and its global products. We empower innovation by delivering integrated legal guidance that supports our business teams in achieving their boldest ambitions. The Global Litigation team is responsible for managing high‑stakes litigation and disputes across all regions. Qualifications Qualified lawyer in one of the jurisdictions in which ByteDance operates in Asia. At least 10 years PQE managing litigation & disputes in the APAC region, ideally gained in both private practice and in‑house, and with experience with the technology industry. Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally with stakeholders at all levels, including business teams, compliance, and external counsel. Experience advising executives or collaborating with cross‑border teams. Proven track record of performing effectively under tight deadlines, strong attention to detail, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
