Role Overview
We're representing a global quantitative trading firm at the cutting edge of finance and technology, hiring a Senior Cyber Security Specialist to join its high-performance cybersecurity function in Singapore (preferred) or Hong Kong. Operating within a lean, trusted team, you'll focus on real-time detection, incident response, and automation across a mission-critical, low-latency infrastructure. This role suits a seasoned security professional with a strong technical foundation (software engineering background would be beneficial), the adaptability to pivot across diverse security disciplines, and the capability to engineer robust, scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities
Investigate alerts, conduct targeted and proactive threat hunts, and respond to real-time security incidents
Build, refine, and maintain monitoring and detection tools to enhance accuracy and reduce false positives
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to perform root cause analysis and deploy preventative measures
Track and assess emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and intelligence feeds - identifying and prioritising actionable insights
Automate and optimise detection and response processes through Python scripting and version-controlled codebases
Partner with DFIR specialists and global analysts to ensure comprehensive operational coverage across time zones
Contribute to knowledge sharing through internal documentation, training sessions, and security awareness programmes
What You'll Bring...
7-10 years' experience in cybersecurity
Advanced Python scripting skills with practical experience in version control systems (e.g. Git)
Strong understanding of Linux internals, system-level security, and secure infrastructure practices
Skilled in correlating complex data sets, triaging alerts, and maintaining composure under pressure
Familiarity with threat modelling, incident response frameworks, and system hardening techniques
Excellent communicator, able to distil and present technical findings to varied technical audiences
Highly adaptable, with the ability to work effectively across multiple security domains and rapidly shifting priorities
Humble, curious, and collaborative - with a drive for continuous improvement and technical excellence
(Preferred) Experience working in red team or adversary simulation environments
(Preferred) Experience with SIEM/log aggregation platforms such as ELK, Splunk, or Graylog
