The Role:
TIME is seeking an editorial fellow to join its team in Singapore for a full-time, paid position for six months, starting as soon as possible. We are looking for a developing journalist who is curious, driven, versatile, and excited to be part of a dynamic, global, 24/7 news operation. An ideal candidate is a self-starter with meticulous attention to detail and a team player with a can-do attitude, eager to contribute in a variety of ways to the journalism and culture at TIME.
Responsibilities:
Generating fresh and novel ideas in a fast-paced environment on a range of topics—from American and global politics to business, technology, sports, or entertainment
Regularly writing news stories—identifying key sources to contact, summarizing main themes quickly and accurately, and keeping on top of updates as a story develops
Assisting TIME colleagues with research, reporting, and wire production
Qualifications:
Familiarity with international and current affairs
Experience reporting and conducting interviews under deadline pressure
Demonstrated commitment to building a career in journalism—from work on local or university newspapers, magazines, or websites; freelance writing; or previous internship experience for local or national media
Applicants should submit a cover letter of no more than 300 words, a résumé, and three clips. They must be legally authorized to live and work in Singapore.This is a six-month, full-time paid fellowship.
