Position
Claxton is currently looking to add a Senior Finance Executive to their team based in Singapore - Tuas South Avenue on a permanent basis. The Senior Finance Executive is responsible for assisting the Senior Accountant with day-to-day accounting activities.
Duties/Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day accounting activities, maintain records & data entry.
Ensure all accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
Process and control bank transactions including customer receipts allocations, facilitating bank payments, reconciliations, and reporting.
Process supplier payments and staff claims after proper verification and controls with checking of all the necessary documents.
Support the finance lead in the monthly financial closing process for timely & accurate preparation of Management Accounts.
Prepare month-end schedules, cut-off adjustments, and reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
Support improvements and efficiencies in the AP process of invoices including reconciliation, controls, and forecasting.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of sales invoicing to clients.
Take ownership of the credit card payments process including recording, collating invoices, and CC reconciliation.
Support the finance lead to develop and implement processes, systems, and policies in line with the finance improvement plans.
Assist the Finance lead in forecast, budget, and year-end processes.
Work to improve the availability/accessibility of financial information within the business.
Prepare year-end audit processes/requirements along with resolving queries to the auditors.
Support finance lead in the timely completion of statutory returns and related compliance.
Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years' accounting experience.
Computer literate in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Sound experience and knowledge of accounting systems ideally Navision (MS Dynamics NAV).
A high level of attention to detail and accuracy with good organisational skills.
Excellent communication and people skills and the ability to interact at a variety of levels.
An ability to work under pressure, handling tight deadlines and having a flexible approach.
Sound technical knowledge of financial reporting standards and management reporting requirements.
Good analytical thought process and business acumen, able to anticipate issues and offer ideas for solutions.
Singapore Citizen or PRs in Singapore are encouraged to apply.
