Overview This role is within the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, offering the Diploma in Psychology Studies. The Diploma in Psychology Studies seeks a qualified Lecturer/Senior Lecturer. The successful candidate should have a strong academic background and a passion for teaching students at the Polytechnic level, as well as adult learners. Primary responsibilities include delivering lectures, leading seminars or tutorials, conducting and/or supervising research, engaging with industry, and contributing to academic and administrative duties of the department. For senior positions, the candidate will lead and organise projects and establish networks with industry and educational institutions. What you will be working on Conduct and deliver lessons to full-time diploma students and part-time adult learners in Psychology and related subjects, with a focus on Behavioural Science/Insights, Special Needs Education or Community Psychology. Design, prepare, and develop teaching and learning materials (for face-to-face and online learning), ensuring accessibility and inclusivity. Stay updated with developments in Psychology, Behavioural Science/Insights, Special Needs Education, or Community Psychology, and integrate best and current practices into the curriculum. Conduct and facilitate student–industry collaborations and engage with industry partners. Supervise students in research projects that may be quantitative and/or qualitative. Mentor and motivate students, encouraging active participation in student life and development activities, including local and overseas learning trips. Provide academic and career guidance to students. Take on additional duties as necessary (e.g., committee work, overseas study trips and outreach events). Engage in continuous professional development to enhance pedagogical, research, and administrative capabilities. What we are looking for A tertiary qualification in Psychology, with a strong background in research; relevant experience in Special Needs Education, Community Psychology, or Behavioural Science/Insights preferred. Minimum three years of relevant industry experience. A passion and genuine interest to share knowledge and interact with youths and/or adults. Strong industry linkages to enable collaboration with industry partners. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate professionalism and willingness to invest in continuous learning. Adopt scientific and empirical perspectives in working with colleagues, industry partners and students. IT-savvy and proficient in using learning technologies to enhance student learning.
