Overview Associate General Counsel, APAC at JBT Marel Corporation (JBTM) will provide comprehensive legal support for commercial businesses, advising regional management on litigation, commercial disputes, compliance, mergers & acquisitions, labor & employment issues, intellectual property, and commercial contracting. The role collaborates with business leaders to assess and manage risks within business functions. Key Responsibilities Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements, including NDAs, sales & leasing, joint development & licensing agreements. Provide guidance and training to embedded business operations contract managers. Collaborate with compliance team to develop and implement policies promoting a culture of compliance and ethical conduct. Conduct legal research and stay informed on changes in laws and regulations that may impact JBTM's business in the region. Provide training and guidance on legal and regulatory issues to internal teams. Assist in structuring, negotiating, and executing mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions. Offer legal counsel and guidance to JBTM's commercial operations in the Asia Pacific Region. Manage litigation, claims, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, labor & employment matters, tax, and other legal work in close cooperation with relevant functions. Retain and manage external counsel as needed, reviewing cost projections and legal bills. Experience Minimum 10 years of legal experience. Experience in a corporate in‐house legal department. Significant experience advising companies with global manufacturing or assembly operations. Experience with labor and employment litigation. Experience advising in an international context. Experience managing commercial litigation and implementing global legal compliance initiatives; experience with complex commercial transactions is desirable. Education J.D. (or local equivalent) from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in a jurisdiction where JBTM has a principal operation. Knowledge and Skills Interest in understanding the implications of commercial objectives on legal issues. Strong problem‐solving skills and ability to develop creative solutions. Excellent ability to present complex ideas clearly, both written and verbal, to diverse audiences. Team‐player with sensitivity to viewpoints and collaborative approach. Sensitivity to urgency and proactive in action. Excellent judgment, client counseling, multitasking, and decision‐making skills. Practical, hands‐on, collaborative approach to resolving issues with appreciation of business strategy. Strong project‐management skills. Travel Requirements Up to 10%.
