The Role
Are you a senior creative technologist who wants to lead complex projects and deliver innovative solutions for the world’s critical systems? You’ll work at Kyndryl Vital, a global network of designers, engineers, writers, researchers, and strategists. You will tackle wicked problems by blending technical expertise with human-centered design to prototype and implement innovative solutions. You will lead design initiatives across a variety of complex projects, act as a hands-on expert and team leader, drive the use of emerging technologies, set prototyping standards, and oversee the end-to-end design process from discovery through user testing and delivery. You will build relationships with senior client stakeholders and mentor teams across design and engineering, balancing big ideas with practical constraints to deliver scalable solutions. You will collaborate with delivery leads to ensure workstreams align with timelines and goals and ensure the final product reflects the intended experience. You will help clients understand how technologies such as AI, IoT, or AR can unlock value and elevate experiences.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
Human-Centered Design: expertise in applying human-centered design at a strategic level, guiding others to ensure the end product resonates with users on functional and emotional levels.
Cross-disciplinary Collaboration: ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and act as the bridge between design, engineering, business, and client technical teams.
Innovation: portfolio of projects introducing new technology or novel interactions; proactive in exploring tech landscape and prototyping with experimental tech.
Rapid Prototyping: capability to swiftly create visual simulations to fully interactive prototypes and establish environments that accelerate prototyping cycles.
Feasibility Analysis: strong skill in technical feasibility and risk assessment, mapping requirements, timelines, resources, and potential challenges.
Storytelling: ability to craft presentations and narratives that engage stakeholders from end users to executives.
AI and Data Ethics: leadership in ethical design decisions involving AI or user data, ensuring transparency and responsible AI practices.
You Are
8+ years of experience in roles involving creative technology, user experience, or digital innovation, with leadership of significant project portions and possibly teams.
Demonstrated depth in one or more industry verticals or technology domains to contextualize solutions for business problems.
Experience in enterprise-scale delivery and design consulting; ability to navigate governance and security reviews while enabling lean delivery.
Strong knowledge of enterprise IT and architecture (cloud, databases, APIs, security) to design solutions that integrate with client ecosystems.
Familiarity with organizational change management or DesignOps to influence how new tools or processes are adopted.
Advanced background in data science, AI/ML, or computational design is a plus, including experience with AI-driven prototypes or data/ML-enabled features.

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (or equivalent demonstrable portfolio of work).
Preferred Education
Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., MDM, MDes, MFA, d.MBA or equivalent MS in HCI, MBA with tech focus, PhD in a design or tech field) or equivalent continued education is a plus.
