Staff Software Engineer (Front End):
Join Illumina's Multi-Omics Software team within R&D and play a lead role in the design and development of cutting-edge next generation data and analysis platforms to unlock the power of the genome – to transform healthcare and beyond.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be part of an innovative, dynamic, and adaptive organization supporting new and on-market cloud-based products that streamline the generation, analysis, aggregation, and extraction of insights from data.
Responsibilities:
Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications.
Collaborate with Product Managers and Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products.
Translating design specs into reusable components using HTML5/CSS3, and Angular
Develop software components that meet standards of quality and architecture, including the documentation and implementation of unit tests, scripts, and test harnesses
Work with UX team member to implement prototype using reusable Angular components and implement UI automation framework.

Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Minimum of 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable applications
Experience with front end technologies and/or front-end frameworks.
Knowledge of web libraries and frameworks such as Angular, React, Underscore
In-depth knowledge of Java, TypeScript, or at least one other object-oriented language
Familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols and web server optimization techniques
Expertise in building complex interactive graphical systems
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Experience with numerous aspects of DevOps, including source control, CI/CD, Kubernetes and containerized deployment.
Demonstrated willingness to teach others and learn new technologies.
