Job Title: Disaster Recovery Specialist

The Disaster Recovery Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our technology services. This professional will be responsible for managing complex technology incidents impacting group businesses, leveraging their expertise to mitigate downtime and restore services efficiently.

The ideal candidate will possess 8-10 years of experience managing IT initiatives in a matrix environment or equivalent experience as an Operational Line Manager. Strong English communication skills are essential, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex technology incidents impacting group businesses
  • Collaborating with relevant business and technology groups/units to ensure compliance with Incident and Problem Management processes and procedures
  • Establishing strong command and control of incidents, promoting clear accountability and precise evaluation of complex issue scenarios
  • Participating in incident resolution calls to facilitate determination, recovery, and resolution
  • Timely incident recognition, logging, assignment, and resolution (or temporary resolution where permanent resolution within the allotted timeframe is not feasible), with proper documentation
  • Coordinating and monitoring incidents and potential areas through symptoms, trends, or deviations from standards
  • Escalating critical and unresolved incidents to appropriate levels of management
  • Ensuring accurate capture and documentation of incident data in the incident reporting tool
  • Performing post-incident activities to ensure highest levels of service quality and improve service levels through identification of problem trends and causes that impact production services delivery
  • Communicating effectively and managing highly stressful situations during incidents
  • Initiating, tracking, and closing problem tickets, and performing preventive actions
  • Participating in standard Post-mortem (Root cause analysis) process to prevent repetition of technology incidents with known root cause
  • Providing effective and accurate incident reporting and assignment using customized and implemented tools, where applicable
  • Collaborating with other Technology & Operations/Shared Infrastructure Services functions to maintain an acceptable audit rating
  • Capturing incident timelines in ticketing tools, incident impact, and resolution duration, along with associated KPIs
  • Preparing audit reporting: Data analysis, PowerPoint presentation, Regulatory reporting

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related discipline required
  • ITIL certification is mandatory
  • Strong English communication skills (written and oral) with experience interacting with all levels of management
