The role of a Ship Boarding Officer is crucial in ensuring the smooth turnaround of vessels at port, adhering to regulations and company standards. Key responsibilities include attending vessels at port, anchorage, or shipyard, coordinating cargo operational activities, liaising with terminal operators and authorities, arranging vessel arrival and departure formalities, and preparing Proforma Disbursement Accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend vessels at port, anchorage, berth or shipyard
  • Coordinate cargo operational activities at the port
  • Liaise with Terminal, MPA, ICA and various port service providers such as process port declaration and immigration procedures
  • Arranging Vessels Arrival, Departure and Port Formalities (inclusive of arrangement of Tugs, Pilots, Arrangement of Crew change matters)
  • Arranging and coordinating of ship supplies, bunker supplies or fresh water Prepare Proforma Disbursement Accounts (PDA)
  • Coordinate with ship, port authorities and terminal operators
  • Ensure documentation and regulatory compliance
  • Report operational updates to the office team in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Prior experience in ship boarding or port operations preferred
  • Good knowledge of dry bulk operations is an advantage
  • Good knowledge and experience in Port and Immigration regulations, procedures and governing tariffs
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Process Class 2 or 3 driver's licence will be an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Words and Exel)
