The opportunity:

• Ensures cargos within Southeast Asia are routed to the gateways which maximize the overall benefit for the Region but not for a single station. Think, not on a per Branch value and liaises with carriers, co-loaders, and agents for sharper more cost-effective procurement.

• Ensures that appropriate transport options are used consistently with existing and potential customer base. Ensures that staff under control use established Company buy-rates appropriately for transportation options and maintains/monitors the proper list of Approved Vendors (co-loaders and airlines) in alignment and full cooperation with the Airfreight managers at various origins within the Region.

• Authorizes the negotiation of spot rates for all modes where appropriate through cooperation with airfreight export managers.

• Verifies the consolidation plans and choice of carriers through collaboration with Air Freight Export Managers, Calculates and monitors the cost and profit of the consolidation.

• Entertains the customers’ co-loading agents and carriers, as needed and where necessary and be responsible for overall airfreight pricing quotations to ensure the right level is being pitched.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Be responsible for the management of staff and resources under direct and indirect control to perform the gateway operations function within the Southeast Asia region.

• Effective and efficient inter-department communications to all key stakeholders to ensure the objective of cargo movement to facilitate cost minimization without compromising the service quality.

• Ensures that operations and documentation requirements are consistent with the Quality Assurance Procedures and the set KPIs to ensure operational compliance.

• Interfaces with both internal and external customers at times to ensure that customers’ requirements and service standards are maintained. Ensuring excellence in customer service, reliability, and efficiency.

• Ensures that corrective action(s) will be/have been taken on quality issues where appropriate to drive our Growth program and to ensure continuous improvement, business continuity, least impact on our customers.

• Supporting airfreight RFQs within the Southeast Asia Region and perform other duties assigned by VP Airfreight, Asia.
