Overview What the role is: You will work in Environmental Health Institute, and be a member in the Vector Biology & Control Division. You will part of Project Wolbachia-Singapore, an innovative project that aims to reduce the risk of dengue in Singapore. You will be working in the mosquito production facility. Responsibilities What you will be working on: We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates interest in the biology of the mosquito, and/or engineering who can support the planning and execution of various activities, including large-scale production of male Wolbachia-Aedes mosquitos, production quality control, production process improvement, planning and supporting experiments. Training will be provided. The outcomes are expected to contribute towards improving public health. Qualifications What we are looking for: Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering or related disciplines Able to systematically perform routine workflow correctly with an eye for details Able to handle mosquitoes and perform related husbandry tasks Able to conduct research to improve operational processes Able to work staggered hours, including after office-hours, weekends and public holidays Work independently and as a team in a fast-paced working environment Physically fit to perform manual work Good interpersonal and communication skills Experience working in a laboratory or insectary setting will be advantageous Applicants will be updated on the status of their applications within 4 weeks of the closing date of this job posting.
