Why the Developer Graduate Programme?
As a Developer, you'll design, install, test, and maintain systems, playing a key role in solving complex problems for our clients and customers.
You’ll gain understanding of global markets and finance, working in a dynamic environment with technologies like Windows, Unix, C++, Java, C#, NoSql, MongoDB, Linux, Python, Hadoop, scripting languages, grid computing, and real-time systems. Your tasks may include:
- Designing and innovating products with new technologies
- Providing cyber security intelligence
- Developing user interfaces
- Optimizing systems and applications
- Analyzing code for improvements
- Writing data analysis scripts
- Collaborating with business units to meet their needs
Technology at Barclays

From the start, you'll work on real projects designing, installing, testing, and maintaining systems, contributing to innovative solutions for clients worldwide.
Who we are looking for
You should be able to code in at least one language, ideally hold a STEM degree (not essential), and have an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026 with a minimum GPA of 3.2. A strong interest in technology and solving financial challenges with innovative solutions is preferred. We promote equal employment opportunity regardless of background.
Purpose of the role
Design, develop, and improve software to support our business and technology capabilities.
Accountabilities
- Deliver high-quality, scalable, maintainable software solutions using industry-standard languages and tools.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Participate in code reviews and promote best practices.
- Follow secure coding practices to protect data and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Implement unit testing to ensure code quality and reliability.
