Overview
The Sales Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry is responsible for leveraging technical expertise and sales skills to promote and sell complex technological products or services. This role requires a strong understanding of both the technical aspects of products and the needs of clients within the sector.
Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth within the oil and gas sector.
Client Identification: Identify, qualify, and pursue potential clients, focusing on those seeking innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency or reduce emissions.
Presentations: Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations that explain product features, benefits, and applications to prospective customers.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, acting as a trusted advisor to address their needs and concerns.
Collaboration with Technical Teams: Work closely with engineering and technical teams to ensure accurate product specifications and solutions are presented to clients.
Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with clients, ensuring alignment with company objectives while meeting customer expectations.
Sales Reporting: Track sales activities and report on performance metrics regularly.
Requirements
Educational Background: A Degree / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related fields) or a similar technical discipline is required.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a sales engineering role within the oil and gas industry is preferred. Experience with technical sales processes is essential.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of oil and gas operations, including equipment specifications, emissions control technologies, and regulatory compliance.
Sales Skills: Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing successful client relationships. Strong negotiation skills are essential.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.

Self-motivated with a strong drive for results.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings and industry events.
Strong analytical skills to assess market opportunities and customer needs.
