Procurement / Purchasing Director at NTT DATA

As the Director of Procurement / Purchasing at NTT DATA, you will play a crucial leadership role in ensuring the efficiency and integrity of procurement processes for goods and services. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the planning and execution of procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of materials and services at competitive prices.
  • Coordinating procurement efforts in alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Establishing and maintaining processes and systems for effective daily operations.
  • Managing strategic sourcing across all categories and implementing procurement procedures.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand procurement needs and ensuring their fulfillment.
  • Maintaining vendor and client relationships, handling escalations.
  • Leading contract negotiations and ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Identifying and evaluating suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
  • Conducting vendor performance reviews and implementing corrective actions.
  • Creating and monitoring spend forecasts.
  • Driving client satisfaction and using it as a benchmark for success.
  • Managing the procurement team and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Making tactical sourcing decisions and ensuring policy compliance.
Qualifications and Attributes
  • Proficiency in global sourcing and procurement strategies.
  • Experience with procurement software and systems.
  • Strong understanding of market conditions, especially in the IT industry.
  • Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Leadership qualities with team management experience.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
Educational and Professional Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Certifications such as CPSM or CPM are desirable.
Experience
  • Proven procurement experience in a multinational technology services environment.
  • Skills in competitive procurement, negotiation, and cost savings.
  • Experience in vendor management, budgeting, and leadership roles in procurement teams.
