Biomedical Engineering Department Lead

The Biomedical Engineering Department at the Eastern General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead its development and operations. As the department's lead, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing effective systems, processes, and policies to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans and timelines to deliver biomedical engineering projects on time and within budget
  • Collaborate with technology partners to design, develop, and implement biomedical systems that meet or exceed regulatory standards
  • Conduct end-user briefings and workshops to communicate project requirements and outcomes to stakeholders
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with hospital staff, patients, and external partners to promote collaboration and communication
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively

Requirements:

  • Recognized degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering, or related field
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in hospital operations, preferably in a healthcare sector
  • Strong knowledge and skills in design thinking, change management, project management, technology adoption, and process methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders in a dynamic and growing organization
  • Highly motivated, action-oriented individual with excellent planning, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Able to work under pressure, adapt to change, and manage challenges effectively
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Photoshop, and/or presentation software
