We are currently looking for an Assistant Accountant with the expertise and experience to help us navigate this exciting journey ahead in our Singapore office.
As our Assistant Accountant, you will be tasked with the following key responsibilities:
Invoice Processing & Accounts Payable
Verify and process trade invoices for goods and services provided.
Ensure trade invoices are accurate and in compliance with contractual terms.
Resolve discrepancies and errors by liaising with vendors and operations teams.
Process payments and ensure timely payment to vendors according to agreed terms.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all accounts payable transactions.
Prepare accounts payable aging reports, highlighting overdue payments or outstanding liabilities.
Accounts Receivable & Invoicing
Generate and issue invoices to customers based on contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements.
Bank Reconciliation & Cash Flow Management
Monitor and update bank account movements and reconciliation.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
Assist in the preparation of cash flow statements.
Tax & Compliance
Assist in the preparation of GST returns as required by local regulations.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and local tax laws.
Maintain financial records that comply with the company's internal control procedures and external audit requirements.
Month-End & Year-End Closing
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing.
Assist in the preparation of monthly reports, including financial statements and management reporting.
Audit & Internal Controls
Assist in the preparation and support of audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.
Administrative & Ad-Hoc Tasks
Provide general administrative support to the finance team when needed.
Perform any other ad-hoc duties, reports, and analyses as assigned.
We would like to hear from you, if you possess the following:
Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Prior experience in accounting and administration, ideally in the bunkering or oil and gas industry.
Familiarity with industry-specific accounting standards (e.g. marine fuel pricing methodology, etc).
Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar).
Proficient in MS Excel skills for reporting and data analysis.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and related accounting principles.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented, accuracy, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
