Marine Drafter Job Description

The primary role of a Marine Drafter is to create detailed drawings and designs for marine vessels. This involves working closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that the final product meets the required specifications and regulations.

Duties include:

  • Drafting preliminary drawings based on requirements outlined in sales quotations.
  • Preparing single line diagrams, termination drawings, and arrangement drawings in accordance with the scope of supply (JOP).
  • Developing draft outlines and detailed drawings to the appropriate scale, as required by relevant authorities or specific customer requirements.
  • Compiling and preparing documentation for vendor submissions to customers and class societies for review and approval.
  • Monitoring the progress of all engineering activities to ensure timely completion and submission of engineering documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, applicants should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 18001 is advantageous.
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD software (2D/3D).
  • Knowledge in Electrical and Electronics.
