Our client is a well-established organisation in the Maritime sector, actively hiring for a Supply Trader to join their team. Responsibilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing suppliers to enhance deal success rates and profit margins across the region. Efficiently manage and respond to incoming enquiries from other regional offices within the Group. Collaborate closely with fellow traders to ensure seamless sharing of market insights and customer intelligence across the organization. Assess and interpret market trends, understand client needs, provide competitive product and pricing information, negotiate agreements, and address customer inquiries throughout the sales process. Monitor market fundamentals and local cargo index fluctuations to identify opportunities for commercial advantage. Support the Regional Head and Book Management teams in formulating, executing, and maintaining short- and long-term trading strategies. Represent the company in internal and external marketing or promotional initiatives as needed. Leverage MINT data and local market insights to identify and generate leads for the Sales team. Manage risk proactively by ensuring supplier due diligence, minimizing claim costs, and assessing counterparties' financial health in coordination with the Supplier Credit Team. Stay informed on developments in the shipping and oil industries through continuous review of trade journals and industry publications. Requirements Exceptional and interpersonal skills. In-depth understanding of the bunker industry, shipping markets, and fuel specifications. Customer-focused, detail-oriented, and skilled in problem-solving. Persuasive and confident negotiator with the ability to make quick, effective decisions. Proficient in MS Office and CRM tools. Proven track record of successful trading performance.
