Job Description

As a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO), you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment for employees. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Conducting WSH compliance inspections to identify areas of improvement;
  • Clarifying WSH programme requirements to employees across departments;
  • Couching team members on how to conduct routine checks on work activities;
  • Investigating incidents and accidents to determine root causes;
  • Reviewing investigation findings to identify trends and patterns.

You will also be responsible for coordinating emergency preparedness and response plans, as well as implementing WSHMS and risk management plans within the scope of your work.

Additionally, you will be required to maintain WSHMS documentation, monitor implementation progress, and support the implementation of WSH policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma in Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent;
  • At least 3 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in PUB projects;
  • Registration as a WSHO;
  • Strong knowledge of the WSH Act and requirements;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
