SAP Basis Consultant

Overview
Take ownership of supporting and autonomously completing project tasks.
Identify the key factors influencing a defined, straightforward problem and propose effective solutions.
Utilize analysis, experience, and decision-making skills to identify and resolve problems.
Choose the most suitable tools and techniques to fulfill specific client requirements.
Recognize the advantages of employing cutting-edge methods and tools, applying them appropriately to engagements, and contributing to their ongoing improvement.
Effectively manage work according to established plans for engagement components.
Potentially oversee a work stream independently, including reviewing and guiding the work of junior team members.
Develop solutions to client issues by applying methods and tools, and validate these solutions with subject matter experts.
Demonstrate accountability and contribute to achieving client objectives successfully.
Collaborate within a team responsible for the technical monitoring, support, and administration of SAP system landscapes across various locations, including SAP ECC, SAP Enterprise Portal (EP), and Solution Manager. This includes database administration of Oracle database Server utilized within the SAP system landscape.
Report to and work under the guidance of the SAP Basis Technical Lead and Project Manager.
What will you do?
Implement SAP OSS notes, kernel patches, support packages, add-ons and SAP software component upgrades.
Installations/ Upgrades/ Migration of SAP Application / Net Weaver Suite of products within the SAP system landscape.
Monitoring of SAP systems and Databases.
SAP Database table space administration, resize, reorganization & Implementation of Database Patches.
SAP Database statistics / reorganization (table, DB, views, index).
SAP System and Database parameter changes.
Work collaboratively in project environment and boundaries.
Responding and resolving incidents that may arise in the production and non-production SAP environments.
Resolving incidents that may arise due to system generated alerts.
Online Support Services (OSS): Interact directly with SAP via OSS to resolve technical issues, review and apply OSS notes, and schedule services such as EarlyWatch to help ensure the integrity of the SAP systems.
Backup/Recovery Administration and Disaster Recovery Support: Collaborate with Infrastructure team in supporting the backup and restore configuration within the SAP systems to ensure timely and reliable backups/restores of all SAP systems.
Involve in Disaster Recovery exercises.
Change Management: Follow the ITIL change management process to, obtain required approvals from management and document all changes.
Security: Accountable for maintaining a secure environment and ensuring that SAP best practices and client requirements are followed.
Work closely with SAP, external partners and customer teams to ensure successful project completion.
Continually enhance existing skills and seek new areas for personal development.
The ideal candidate should possess:
Diploma / Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology related field, or IT equivalent.
Minimum 5 years' of SAP ECC experience.
Strong understanding of ECC and NetWeaver Solution architecture, use cases, Integration with SAP and Non SAP systems.
Advanced knowledge of and technical skills in at least 2 key SAP components is strongly preferred. Familiarity with the current concepts and strategy of SAP with respect to SAP NetWeaver, MSSQL, Sybase ASE Hana, Oracle, etc.
Experience on Installations/ Upgrades/ Monitoring of SAP Application / Net Weaver Suite of products like S/4 ECC, NetWeaver Portal, Fiori on Windows/Unix flavours platforms with database systems like Oracle.
Implementation / Migration experience of SAP application powered by Hana or other Databases.
Experience in AWS or any other Cloud technologies and Certification is an advantage.
Experience in GCC 2.0 if any.
Experience in SAP ABAP and Java system copy, SAP ECC EHP upgrade, NetWeaver Stack upgrade, NetWeaver dual stack split and system migration.
Experience and knowledge of SAP component systems on SAP ABAP and JAVA stack, including SAP BusinessObjects suite of applications.
Implementation experience on SAP Technical Infrastructure components that run on ABAP and JAVA stacks.
Preferably worked on at least two ECC EHP upgrade projects.
SAP Basis (certified/experienced) and OS/DB (certified/experienced) will be an advantage.
Good analytical skills with ability to quickly establish cause of system issue reported.
Good interpersonal skills with ability to work with others to resolve problems.
Ability to communicate information well to co-workers and management verbally and in writing.
Able to work independently as well as an excellent team player.
