Waste Management Technical Specialist

Our team is seeking a highly skilled Waste Management Technical Specialist to join our ranks. This individual will be responsible for leading a unit of technical specialists and coordinating maintenance work between contractors and maintenance sections to ensure safe and efficient operations of the waste-to-energy facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the construction progress of IWMF, working with project consultants and stakeholders to ensure compliance with design specifications and statutory requirements.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of mechanical, process, and electrical equipment/systems.
  • Attend factory acceptance tests to witness and verify quality and performance of major equipment/systems.

Additionally, this role involves Operational and Maintenance Responsibilities :

  • Lead a unit of technical specialists and coordinate maintenance work between contractors and maintenance sections to ensure safe and efficient operations of the waste-to-energy facility.
  • Implement preventive maintenance and overhaul programs for electrical and control equipment.
  • Administer contracts for operation and maintenance of mechanical, EICA, or building services equipment.
  • Enforce permit-to-work system and safe work culture, supervising contractors' work for quality and safety.
  • Assist in formulation and preparation of standard operating and safety procedures, equipment testing/changeover program.
  • Perform shift work in a waste-to-energy facility if needed.
  • Assist engineer to implement initiatives on safety and continuous improvement to enhance safety culture and standards within the plant.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in any Engineering course or Nitec in any Engineering course.
  • For Diploma holders, preferably with 3 years of relevant working experience. Fresh diploma graduates can be considered.
  • For Nitec holders, preferably with 6 – 8 years of relevant working experience.
  • Candidates with professional certification e.g. Licenced Electrical Worker, Boiler Attendant Certificate, Workplace Safety Health Officer, will be given preference.
  • Good technical background and strong analytical skills. Knowledge in solid waste management would be an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and preferably in Navisworks and Primavera P6.
  • Mature, independent, resourceful, and a good team player.
  • Good interpersonal communication.
  • Able to work in waste-to-energy facilities.
  • Able to perform rotating shift work over public holidays and weekends if necessary.
