The role of Senior Network Operations Centre Engineer involves overseeing the operational integrity of submarine cable networks and landing stations. This position is critical in ensuring seamless communication and data transmission.
The job requires a deep understanding of submarine cable systems, networking principles, and telecommunications technologies. A strong background in telecommunication services, optical transmission, or similar fields is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain the operational integrity of submarine cable networks and landing stations.
- Analyze alarms, implement preventative measures, and troubleshoot issues to ensure uninterrupted communication and data transmission.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a telecommunication service provider or major transmission equipment vendor environment.
- Prior experience in Submarine Cable Landing Station and/or NOC environments is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or similar qualifications are preferred.
- Strong understanding of submarine cable systems, networking principles, and telecommunications technologies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex network issues.
- Change management expertise to adapt to evolving network demands.
- Proficiency in CCNA, CompTIA Network+, and other relevant certifications.
- Reliability, FOCAL, Access Control, Vendor Management, Compliance, Networking, Telecommunications, Ethernet, SDH, Cabling, Incident Management, and Technical Support skills.
