Job Description
The successful candidate will work in Assistant Professor Andrea Phua's lab on a range of projects, primarily "Investigating a transcriptional role of primary cilia in striatal neural computation mediating cognitive flexibility".
The main responsibilities of the position include:
  • Conducting mouse stereotaxic surgeries
  • Conducting mouse behavior and imaging experiments
  • RNA-FISH and IF histology experiments
  • Confocal microscopy
  • Processing and analysis of behavior and confocal data

Qualifications
Master's Degree in Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Biological Science or Biotechnology.
Skills:
  • Strong interest in neuroscience research
  • Excellent time and resource management skills
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with interdisciplinary colleagues

Experience:
  • At least two years of experience in small animal care surgery and husbandry is required
  • Understands small rodent behaviour
  • Experience in fiber photometry or one/two-photon fluorescence microendoscopic imaging will be strongly considered
  • Proficient in histology, RNA-FISH and RNA sequencing experiments
  • Experience in computational behavior and image analysis will be advantageous
  • Some experience in confocal fluorescence microscopy
