The candidate will be required to lead a team to assess and analyse IMDA’s regulated markets (telecom, media and post) in relation to competition and consumer policy matters. This will be in support of IMDA’s vision to empower the info-communications sector that drives the economy, bonds communities, and powers a Smart Nation.
Job Responsibilities
Policy formulation : Lead the team to undertake robust and deep analysis of policy and regulatory issues in the telecom, media, and post/parcel sectors concerning competition and consumer matters. Obtain perspectives from internal and external stakeholders to develop sound policy recommendations.
Policy implementation : Ensure strong policy implementation of frameworks and regulations for competition and consumer policy matters. Enforce these frameworks when necessary, including assessing potential breaches of the Telecommunications and Media Competition Code.
Problem-solving and stakeholder management : Manage and resolve cases by coordinating with stakeholders from various sectors, including the public and private sectors.
Whole-of-Government Approach : Coordinate with various government agencies and collaborate to facilitate infrastructure deployment, improving service quality. The team lead should guide and coordinate these efforts.
Job Requirements
Background in Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration, Engineering, or related disciplines.
At least 5 years of experience in the telecommunications, media, postal sectors, or related fields, with supervisory experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
Resourceful, motivated, with analytical and creative thinking.
Result-oriented, stakeholder-focused, capable of multitasking.
Strong interpersonal skills and experience in cross-team projects.
