Culinary Professional Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled culinary professional to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, managing a team of cooks, ensuring food safety standards, and contributing to menu development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to the restaurant's specifications, using a variety of cooking methods and ingredients.
  • Menu Development: Update menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Kitchen Management: Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff and food preparation activities, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • Food Safety: Ensure high standards of food hygiene and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor food stock, order supplies, and manage inventory efficiently.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment and storage areas.
  • Training and Mentoring: Train and mentor junior kitchen staff and apprentices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Chef, Head Chef, Sous Chef, or similar role is essential.
  • Culinary Education: Culinary school diploma or degree in Culinary Arts is preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety, and sanitation standards, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen setting, standing for long periods, lifting, and working in hot conditions.
