What you will be working on: As an Engineer with the Planning, Development & Corporate Services (PDCS) Division of Water Reclamation Plants (WRP) Dept, you will be deployed to the Instrumentation, Control, and Automation (ICA) or Cybersecurity team to play a leading role in designing large‐scale water reclamation plant projects, which includes the planning, development and implementation of the New Kranji WRP (NKWRP) and Changi WRP Phase 3 expansion (CP3) projects as part of a multi‐disciplinary project team. You will: Apply engineering knowledge and problem‐solving skills to develop complex industrial solutions (Operational Technology & Information Technology) for the next generation smart Water Reclamation Plants. Work collaboratively with consultants and stakeholders to ensure that end users' requirements are managed and met in terms of scope, quality, costs, benefits, and risks within the constraints of the project's timeline. Coordinate with cross‐functional teams to develop plant ICA design, while addressing operational requirements, reliability, resiliency, safety, maintainability, future‐proofing, and cybersecurity considerations. Work closely with the team to develop and review technical matters/documents related to ICA – such as SCADA/PLC systems, virtualization, network/field equipment, industrial protocols, instrumentation, cloud technologies, and smart/digital systems. Ensure the proposed design complies with relevant guides/standards and takes into consideration latest technologies and industry best practices (e.g., security‐by‐design, design for maintainability, infrastructure architecture). Work closely with consultant on compliance with cybersecurity requirements. Be involved in the design, development, and implementation of smart initiatives for next‐generation digital water plants, e.g., incorporating digital twins, automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics.
