Software Quality Engineer Job Description

The Software Quality Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining automated test frameworks for web applications. This includes creating and executing automated test scripts for functional, regression and integration testing.

  • Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Create and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression and integration testing to identify and fix defects early on.
  • Implement and maintain performance testing scenarios using JMeter to optimize application performance.
  • Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand requirements and create effective test strategies.
  • Identify, document and track bugs through their lifecycle to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to quality planning to drive business success.
  • Set up and maintain test environments to facilitate efficient testing.
  • Create and maintain detailed test documentation to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Monitor and report on test coverage and quality metrics to inform data-driven decisions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in software testing and automation with a strong understanding of software development methodologies.
  • Strong expertise in at least one of the following automation tools: Katalon Studio, Playwright, Selenium WebDriver or Cypress.
  • Hands-on experience with JMeter for performance testing to ensure optimal application performance.
  • Experience with test management tools and bug tracking systems to streamline testing processes.
  • Knowledge of API testing and tools like Postman or REST Assured to expand testing capabilities.
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices to ensure consistent quality.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments to drive collaboration and innovation.
